Gaurang to Present a regal fusion of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh Weaves at Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2013

Award Winning Fashion Designer from Hyderabad Gaurang Shah will present a collection celebrating the perfect amalgamation of Rajasthani kota jamdani weaves and intricate Lucknowi chikankari embroidery at the upcoming Lakme Fashion Week Indian Textile Day in Mumbai, March 25, this year.

Gaurang will showcase 16 of his classic hand-woven designs, woven majestically to capture the vibes of the coming summer season highlighting the graceful art of interlacing yarns, the warp and the weft. One of the garments that Gaurang Shah has created uses 28 metres of fabric. It will be worn by a model with a 28-inch waist.

His collections will combine the raw texture of royal Rajasthan and the inimitable elegance of Nawabi Lucknow. The collections are poetically woven enriching the beauty in his creations . 

Announcing his theme for LFW 2013 Summer/Resort Gaurang said “Our woven collection at LFW  will reflect grandness with contemporary as well as fashion forward captivating look. We have used 12-15 meters of fabric in each of our creation which is unique.”

The creation is the outcome of collaboration of finest handloom kota weaves from Rajasthan and chic elegance of finest chikankaris of Uttar Pradesh. It took over 6 months to create the collection since the time Gaurang conceptualized the theme and design for his pre-fall summer collections.

With his unique twists to vintage Indian weaves, self taught award winning fashion designer has drawn immense admiration for his hand-woven saris, indo-western collections. He is an enormously talented designer who has produced a series of inspiring collections which include his award winning ‘Ardhangini’ collections in LFW 2012 winter fest.
